Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while inhabitants in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such strikes as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and authorities were anticipating further attacks.
